Last Week:

The Colonials took 3 out of 4 points last week against conference rival Bentley College. Bentley took a 2-0 lead early in the 2nd period on goals by Jeremy Robert and Brentt Gensler. The Colonials got on the board late in the 2nd on a PPG by Nathan Longpre. The Colonials controlled most of the play in teh 3rd period, but couldn't solve Bentley goalie Joe Calvi until Bentley took a 5 min major for Checking from Behind with under 4 mins to play in the game. On the ensuing PP, Denny Urban deposited a rebound past Calvi for the tying goal. The action wasn't finished however as the Eagles took another 5 min major for Contact to the Head, giving the Colonials a 5 on 3 for the rest of the 3rd and part of the OT period. The Colonials came close, but couldn't finish and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.

On Saturday, the Colonials got 2 first period goals from Scott Kobialko and Trevor Lewis and never looked back to pick up a 5-1 win. Lewis added a 2nd goal in the 2nd period and Zach Hervato and Nathan Longpre added goals in the 3rd to finish off the win. Lewis finished the game with 3 points and Chris Kushneriuk added 3 assist in the win. Brooks Ostergard made 19 saves for his 8th win of the season.

The Opponent:

Alabama-Huntsville was left without a conference when the CCHA rejected their application after the CHA disbanded last season. The Chargers are playing this season as a D1 Independant. The Chargers are 1-3 on home ice this year, splitting with Ferris State and losing twice to Providence College. Freshman Clarke Saunders has carried the load in the nets for UAH, starting 10 games with a 2-8 record, 3.90 GAA, and a .885 SvPct.

Next up:

The Colonials return home next weekend with a non-conference series with Cornell. Games are 7PM on Sat and 4PM on Sunday.
