Psych rock done right. I'm a sucker for lyrics and "you will never come close to how I feel" is perfect.

#4 Kanye West - Monster (feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver & Nicki Minaj)


I am not the biggest hip hop fan in the world but again, it's all about lyrics for me. "I crossed the line and I'll let God decide" just may be the best rap lyric ever.

#3 The Dead Weather - Blue Blood Blues

I am Jack White fan. From The White Stripes to The Raconteurs to The Dead Weather, I enjoyed it all. This song about leaving never sound so true.

#2 Sleigh Bells - Rill Rill

Originally called Ring Ring, Rill Rill is just a bop your head and jam tune. Is it about awkward realizations about growing up? Are there sexual lesbian innuendos? Who cares. See you on the moon then.

#1 Free Energy - Bang Pop

The best song of the year is some bubblegum pop/rock. This was a great album too but Bang Pop stuck out like a sore thumb. Bang Bang Pop Pop.
