Bowker was DFA after the Pirates claimed speedy outfielder Xavier Paul. Bowker was part of the trade that sent Javier Lopez to the Giants and also brought the Pirates pitcher Joe Martinez.

John Bowker Clears Waivers
According to the Pirates Twitter account John Bowker has cleared waivers and has been assigned to the Indianapolis Indians, the Pirates Triple A affiliate.
