Rangers Designate Ramon Aguero For Assignment

Former Bucco Prospect Ramon Aguero, who was claimed by the Rangers earlier this season, has been Designated for Assignment by the Rangers as well.

The Rangers needed the spot on their roster for Cuban Defector Leonys Martin, after signing the outfielder to a five year, $15.5 million contract.

Aguero only pitched 5.2 innings for the Rangers AA and AAA teams recording five strikeouts but walking nine. I would assume he will probably pass through waivers because he has to be added to the 40-man roster of any team wishing to claim him.

Aguero was cut by the Pirates to clear a roster spot for relief pitcher Jose Veras.
